Ventilation and purification system for paint fume
Sticky Fume Filter
Sticky Fume Filter
A Sticky Fume Filter or Fiberglass Rigid Box Filter is used to capture wet, sticky paint fumes before they reach downstream filtration stages. This is critical because activated carbon is designed to remove dry fumes and odors; if the carbon becomes wet, its effectiveness can be severely reduced or destroyed.
For maximum filtration efficiency, a 2-inch PolyPad wire-frame filter should be installed between each filter stage. These intermediate filters help distribute airflow, capture additional particulate matter, and protect the more expensive filtration media. As a result, filter life is extended, system performance is improved, and maintenance costs are reduced by minimizing the frequency of filter replacements.
Galvanized Refillable Carbon Tray Filter (24" x 24" x 2") Filled with Pelletized Carbon
We carefully evaluate your application to determine the optimal filtration configuration for maximum performance and efficiency. This customized approach ensures the greatest possible dwell time within the activated carbon, resulting in superior odor and fume removal while maintaining reliable, trouble-free operation.
The system features 58 pounds of premium 4 mm activated carbon pellets and a 24" x 24" x 12" fiberglass filter, working together to remove contaminants and return clean, breathable air back into the workspace.
For dry applications where both particulate filtration and odor control are required, an optional HEPA filter stage is available to provide enhanced air purification.

A custom blend of activated carbon pellets and potassium permanganate pellets is used to eliminate odors. The PDB is designed to extract VOC fumes and odors directly from the source and prevent them from entering an operator’s breathing zone. Having the right amount of “dwell-time” of the VOC within the carbon is essential to the success of the unit. Our sales engineers will analyze your solvents SDS and we will recommend either carbon, pellets, potassium permanganate, coconut shell, or a custom blend. Then we select the correct blower size designed to achieve optimum dwell-time.
Source capture stops odors from migrating to office areas. Once the fumes are created they are stopped at the source before they can travel anywhere.
Normal cartridge filters plug up from paint spray in a matter of seconds. The PDB-VOC has a custom blend of fiberglass Rigid Cell, Poly Pad, and 4mm carbon or potassium permanganate cells. Each cell holds 28 lbs. and the PDB can hold 3 of them. This blend of filtration will do a much better job on heavy odor and sticky fumes and odors than particulate filters will.
Designed to meet OSHA regulations for flammable paint overspray and VOC.
