The Tiger-Vac® TV-200 (DT) MFS HEPA ORDLOC-652 is an industrial vacuum designed for cleanup of explosive powders in ordinary areas. The TV-200 delivers 270 cfm from 120V so you will need a dedicated 20 amp outlet. 

The main bag filter has a manual shaker handle on the outside of the unit for easy cleaning. The dust falls off the filter and into the hopper. The final stage is a HEPA located under the motor deck.

The NFPA 652 compliant design includes a conductive star shaped main filter (MFS System) and a static conductive hose and tool kit that includes a 2” x 15’ conductive hose.

The Tiger-Vac® 2D-10L is a popular vacuum in the pharmaceutical industry, labs, and production areas where critical filtration, food grade,  and ESD materials are needed.  All of these units share similar specifications.  The 2D-10L is the smallest version of this range. It has a dry capacity of about 9 gallons. 

Each vacuum ships with a fully static-dissipating hose and tool kit, dual HEPA Filters, Main Filter, collections bags made of conductive materials, and conductive poly draw-string liners.  

Its manual filter shaker means you won’t have to take the filter out to clean it. Just a few shakes of the handle and you can continue vacuuming. We also have a variety of filter choices, from M Class to static dissipating, Nomex and HEPA.

The Tiger-Vac® 4D-55L (DT) MFS HEPA ORDLOC-652 is fully compliant with NFPA 652 standards for ordinary location vacuuming of ST1 explosive powders. If your area is not rated as a hazardous location, then the 4D-55L (DT) MFS HEPA ORDLOC-652 could be a very good vacuum for clean up around work areas and general housekeeping.

The 4D-55L is rated for 200 cfm and has 14.5 gallons of dry recovery capability. Its manual filter shaker means you won’t have to take the filter out to clean it. Vacuum hoses can build up a lot of static electricity. The static is usually caused by friction that occurs when you have particles rapidly rubbing up against the interior of the hose. For that reason having a hose that dissipates static is very important, especially in hazardous locations. StatMax Vacuum Hose is made with proprietary conductive urethane resins making the hose material itself completely static dissipating.

In addition to being static dissipative, the Statmax also has a copper wire that is embedded within the helix of the hose. It provides an additional path to ground. Click here for more information on grounded hoses.

FAQ Section

Plus (click or tap to expand) + What kind of motor do I need for all day use with no stopping?

For all day, or multiple shift continuous vacuuming, you need a continuous-duty vacuum with a regenerative TEFC induction motor. TEFC stands for Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled.

Plus (click or tap to expand) + What is a "regen" blower?

Lifespan: 20 + years with proper care. Our continuous-duty vacuums have “regen” or regenerative induction motors. These are the old fashioned production motors that have a primary winding that induces a current in a secondary winding. We recommend this type of motor if you are running 2 shifts non-stop. Newer carbon brush, and brushless type, have a purpose in that they are inexpensive and they can deliver a lot of power, but for a finite period. Regenerative type are generally superior and they last forever.

Lifespan: 1000 to 2000 hrs. A carbon brush motor will burn fast, hot and out. It is an inexpensive way to get a lot of power for a finite period of time. They are good for intermittent duty applications but they will go into thermal shutdown when they heat up as there isn’t a cooling fan. The brushes in the motors we use can be replaced quite easily and inexpensively. After changing the brushes the motor is not as powerful though.

An electric motor is considered explosion-proof when it is capable of containing an internal explosion without rupturing and putting the entire industrial facility at risk. Our explosion-proof vacuums are legally certified explosion proof/dust ignition proof by NRTL.

Brushless motors have been around since the 1960s, being used in industrial and manufacturing applications for [motors that drive] conveyor belts. These are more efficient than carbon brush type motors and have up to 11,000 to 15,000 hrs run time. They are not suitable for all day running, but they can run for a lot longer time span than carbon brush motors can.

These vacuums are NRTL rated for NFPA 652 statndard for explosive dusts. If the area has an NFPA hazardous Location designation (Hazloc) then we have other vacuums that are compliant with NFPA Hazloc. For most ST1 dusts where the area isn’t Hazloc, then these vacuums are suitable. Because every application is different we like to learn the aspects of the application so that we can make a recommendation that is safe and productive.

OSHA created the Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) program to ensure that certain types of equipment be tested and certified for their safe use in the workplace. A Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is a private-sector organization that OSHA has recognized as meeting the legal requirements in 29 CFR 1910.7 to perform testing and certification of products using consensus based test standards. An organization must have the necessary capability both as a product safety testing laboratory and as a product certification body to receive OSHA recognition as an NRTL. Plus (click or tap to expand) + What are "conductive vacuum tools and hose"? and what is the difference between a grounded hose and a hose that conducts static?

​In the old days people would run a copper wire inside the hose, or buried within the hose helix, and belive they were dissipating static electricity. It never really worked that well. The word “static” tells us what really happens: the “static” stays where it is and the copper wire really only serves as an additional path to ground. Our Static Conductive Vac Tools and Hoses are impregnated with a high concentration of conductive resins, such as carbon black and various conductive urethane resins.
